
Maya Masozera will be attending Tufts University, studying Community Health in the
Pre- Medicine program. Maya moved to Belmont in her freshman year. During her time
at Belmont High, Maya is grateful for the experience of living in Belmont and meeting
the diverse population. She is a member of the Model UN team, which has helped her
develop her public speaking and communication skills. Additionally, she was one of the
founding student for the African Culture Club, a place to celebrate and learn about
African Culture.

Jr. Vice Commander Bob Johnson was honored to represent the Commander in
presenting the Voice of Democracy scholarships to our Belmont High School Seniors.

Alejandro Sanchez will be attending Wesleyan University in Middletown Ct. Alejandro
is a Lowell resident, attending the school system in Belmont for the past 13 years.
Honoring his Hispanic heritage, Alejandro spearheaded the High School’s Hispanic
Club, tutoring Spanish in the World Language Education program and in the Foreign
Language Immersion program. Although he had struggled due to the 25 mile commute,
Alejandro values his time spent in Belmont and is grateful to the high school community
for his personal and educational growth.
